The year is 1990 and the WWF has some of the best characters to ever step foot in a wrestling ring. From top to bottom the roster is loaded with entertainment. From the likes of Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior to Earthquake, Big Bossman, and Hacksaw Jim Duggan, the WWF roster was loaded with characters. So I got to thinking I’d take a look at a fun what-if situation. What if the WWF had an Elimination Chamber match in 1990?!? Wouldn’t that be something! So I said screw it and I booked one. Let’s get into it.
As noted, the roster at this point was loaded and really could have gone a variety of ways with the participants. The only prerequisite that I had was that I needed to have 3 good guys and 3 bad guys. The good guys I chose were Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, and Jake The Snake, while the bad guys were The Macho King Randy Savage, The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase, and Mr. Perfect.
Entrance Order & Eliminations
The potential matchups inside the chamber could be a lot of fun. We could see Hogan and Savage mix it up again, Hogan and Warrior, Mr. Perfect and The Million Dollar Man, etc.
1.) Jake The Snake Roberts
2.) Mr. Perfect
3.) The Macho King Randy Savage
4.) The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase
5.) The Ultimate Warrior
6.) Hulk Hogan
The match started with Jake The Snake and Mr. Perfect. They had a good 5-minute match until the Macho King came in. Savage and Mr. Perfect would double team Jake until eventually getting into it themselves. The Million Dollar Man would come in next. We would see some 3 on 1 action on Jake until the Ultimate Warrior entered the fray and went crazy. Warrior would put his focus on Dibiase and Mr. Perfect. He would quickly eliminate Ted Dibiase. On the other side of the ring, Savage dropped an elbow off a pod on Jake The Snake to eliminate him and at that same time, Hulk Hogan entered the match. We are down to 4 guys. Hogan and Mr. Perfect are locking up while Warrior and Savage are going at it. Almost simultaneously, Hogan eliminates Mr. Perfect and The Ultimate Warrior eliminates The Macho King.
We are down to two! To find out who wins check out the podcast!!
I’m kidding! But you should really listen to the podcast!
Final 2: Hulk Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior
As I said on the podcast, this all came to me on a whim. I should have probably kept Warrior out of this match if I was going to have Hogan win but as I said I booked on the spot and having Hogan win this match felt right. After a good back and forth, Hulk Hogan picks up the victory over The Ultimate Warrior with the leg drop and the 1-2-3. Hogan had a bit of an advantage as Warrior was in the match slightly before him.
What did you think? Did I choose the right 6 guys? Did the right guy win? Let me know in the comments below!
