As I say every week, we are really starting to separate the contenders from the pretenders. Last week I said the list of contenders was down to 6 teams. This week I think it stays at 6 but the Vikings and the 49ers swap places. I considered moving the Cowboys to the pretender side of things but I’ll give the Cowboys a break for their lackluster performance against the lowly Texans. I was skeptical of the Vikings over the past few weeks but after losing to the Lions, I think we can say they are marching toward the pretender side of things. And how about the 49ers?! I knocked them out of my list of contenders after the Jimmy G injury, but Brock Purdy!! Brock Purdy seems just fine to lead this team into the playoffs. So the 49ers are back on the right side of the list. Let’s take a look at this week’s NFL Power Rankings.
