Week 8 NFL Power Rankings

Week 8 of the NFL season is upon us. Crazy how fast the season goes. This week we didn’t see any movement in the top 6 of the power rankings. The Eagles, Bills, and Vikings were on a bye. The Chiefs rolled the 49ers and kicked them out of the Power 10 and the Giants and Cowboys took care of business. We saw two teams move into the Power 10 for the first time this season. The Titans and the Bengals replaced the two Los Angeles teams. The Chargers lost to the Seahawks at home and unfortunately, for the Rams they were on a bye and are a victim of circumstance. And quite frankly, they haven’t played well this season. In other news, the Bucs and the Packers both lost, bringing their records to 3-4 respectively on the season, and undoubtedly making Brady and Rodgers miserable, which is a beautiful thing. Oh, and my Chicago Bears won on Monday Night Football and Justin Fields looked great! Let’s get into the Power Rankings.

1.) Philadelphia Eagles (6-0)

The Eagles remain in the top spot after having a bye in Week 7. The Eagles host the Steelers in Week 8.

2.) Buffalo Bills (5-1)

The Bills remain in the second spot after having a bye in Week 7. The Bills host a struggling Packers team in Week 8.

3.) Kansas City Chiefs (5-2)

The Chiefs rolled through the 49ers on the road behind 423 yards passing and 3 TDs from Patrick Mahomes. Juju Smith-Schuster continued to ball out for the Chiefs, catching 7 passes for 124 yards and a TD. Mecole Hardman added two scores on the ground and the Chiefs defense forced two Jimmy G turnovers en route to the Chiefs moving to 5-2. The Chiefs host the Titans in Week 8.

4.) Minnesota Vikings (5-1)

The Vikings remain in the fourth spot after having a bye in Week 7. The Vikings host the Cardinals in Week 8.

5.) New York Giants (6-1)

The 6-1 New York Giants! That’s right the 6-1 New York Giants! Coaching is so important in this league and Brian Daboll is showing that. Daboll is putting his players in position to win and win they did again this weekend as they defeated the Jaguars 23-17. Danny Dimes had 202 yards passing and a passing scored and added 100 yards on the ground and a rushing score. Saquan Barkley also continued his resurgent season as he rushed for 110 yards. The Giants host the 4-3 Seahawks in Week 8.

6.) Dallas Cowboys (4-2)

The Cowboys remain in the sixth spot of the Power 10 after defeating the Lions 24-6. The Cowboys defense forced 5 turnovers in the game, including 4 from Jared Goff. On the other side of the ball, Dak was efficient passing for 200 yards and a score and the ground game was churning as Zeke and Pollard combined for 135 yards. The Cowboys host the Bears in Week 8.

7.) New York Jets (5-2)

The J-E-T-S Jets, Jets, Jets continue to rise up the Power 10 rankings after beating a lifeless Denver Broncos team 16-9. The Jets defense continues to play well and the offense did just enough, behind rookie running back Breece Hall. Hall had 4 carries for 72 yards and a TD. Unfortunately, Jets fans and fantasy owners alike, Hall tore his ACL and is down for the season. We wish him a speedy recovery. The Jets host the Patriots in Week 8.

8.) Tennessee Titans (4-2)

The Titans move into the Power 10 for the first time this season after defeating the Colts 19-10. This was a typical Titans game. Hard-nosed and physical on defense and Derrick Henry pounding the ball on offense. The AFC South looks like it will still have to go through Tennessee. The Titans play the Texans in Week 8.

9.) Baltimore Ravens (4-3)

The Ravens are back in the Power 10 after defeating the Browns 23-20 and moving to 4-3 on the season. The Ravens were led by their run game as they rushed for 44 runs for 160 yards and 2 scores. This wasn’t the prettiest game for the Ravens but in the NFL a win is a win. The Ravens play the Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football in Week 8.

10.) Cincinnati Bengals (4-3)

The Bengals move into the Power 10 for the first time this season after blowing by the Falcons 35-17. The Bengals offense was just too much for the Falcons as Joe Burrow passed for 481 yards and 3 TDs and added another on the ground. Ja’Marr Chase and Tyler Boyd combined for 16 receptions, 285 yards, and 3 scores, while Tee Higgins added 5 receptions and 93 yards. This Bengals offense is cooking. The Bengals play the Browns in Week 8.
