XFL QB Draft Results, USFL News, & More

What’s going on everybody it’s your boy JP (the original) back for the first time in a very long time with some Spring Football news, namely the XFL, as it held its quarterback selection and it didn’t come with its shortage of surprises, well also briefly go over some news as it relates to the USFL and the now defunct AAF. Let’s get to it.

The XFL is returning to action this February with new owners The Rock, Danny Garcia, and Redbird Capital at the helm of this new era revealing its teams and hubs last week Arlington Renegades, D.C. Defenders, Houston Roughnecks, Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas, Seattle Sea Dragons, ST. Louis Battlehawks, and the Vegas Vipers.

*Defenders own the rights to D’Eriq King who was signed to the Carolina Panthers practice squad last week if/when he is cut he will revert back to the Defenders roster.

Most shocking names that standout are Kyle Sloter who was a stud in the USFL last season, along with Luis Perez who lead the Birmingham Stallions to the best overall record in the USFL last season, none more shocking than long-time NFL back-up A.J. McCarron who went into the 2021 NFL season as the back-up to Matt Ryan on the Atlanta Falcons.

In other Spring Football news, the USFL reveal today the return of the Memphis Showboats who will be replacing the Tampa Bay Bandits from the previous season, along with the news that Tom Dondun, Carolina Hurricanes owner and former owner of the now defunct AAF is being sued by AAF Bankruptcy trustee for over $180M.
